Daycare Decisions

Taking pictures of Keegan lately is like nailing jello to a wall...
herding cats...balancing the United States budget..Oh you know what I am saying..
REALLY REALLY HARD...
He is a MOVER..and everytime I get jusssst the right photo op..Whooosh..he's gone..
so every picture I have of him in the last few weeks is a blurry rump..or a blurry head or the blurry floor where he just was..
I know we need to go and have some professional pictures taken soon because I SWEAR he is changing daily and pretty soon he will be 24 and I will only have blurry pictures of his baby leg to remember him by..but the photographer is going to have to glue him down..I kid you not.

Okay..I have been daycare shopping again. This is not a fun kind of shopping for any of you out there that haven't tried it. You are not buying cute sweaters. You are buying a person to take care of your precious precious child and it is the WORST kind of shopping I have ever done.
Because there are a lot of bad daycares. A LOT.
Some have dogs. Some have dirt. Some have dirty dogs. (Don't get me wrong I love dogs...it was just the situation..I don't have time to go into it..) Some are remodeling their kitchens and don't bother to pick up the tools their husbands are using before I come over. "Um, is this nail gun out during daycare hours?"
Some put the children in the car for an hour to pick up their own children from private school: "We sing songs. The children really like it."
Yes, but from 2 pm to 3 pm everyday I will be in the bathroom with stomach cramps praying my son hasn't been in a four car pile up on 694.
Not the daycare for me.
Some daycares are open because people need the money.
"It's $150.00 every week."
"Every week?"
"Yes."
"Even if he isn't here? I mean like if it's summer or a vacation? Or I don't know...just not HERE??"
"Yes."
Look, I understand running a business, but I also know how she got her leather furniture, pool table with real oak, plasma tv, and the $3000. a month mortgage. I am nice, but not that nice. I am not helping someone else out that much. I just can't...
So I think I have found a good fit finally for Keegan. The worst part was breaking up with our present daycare lady..because confrontation of any kind is just not my gig but I was very proud of myself as I acted like an adult and didn't make Will do it.
That is a huge accomplishment.
So Keegan has new daycare and hopefully it will be a good fit. The good news is that it's only 2 minutes from work so I can always sneak over during my break or have my girlfriend, Greta stake it out on her prep period. She used to play rugby. She's tough if there are problems.
