Funny Farm, Cravings and Time Off

Have you ever seen the movie, Funny Farm, with Chevy Chase? My step-dad and I love it. Chevy moves to the country after a city life to write his dream novel..and EVERYTHING goes wrong: the mailman is crazy..his neighbors hate him..there's a body buried in his backyard..his dog runs away..
Will and I are living the 2006 version of Funny Farm.
I have TRIED to be nice; I have tried to be patient; I have tried to see the "good" in our small town..but there is something wrong in this place..and it isn't us.
Today I wanted my jeans back..they are my new fat pregnant jeans and they're too long..two weeks ago I dropped them off..to be hemmed. Today the seamstress seemed incredibly irritated that I would even call to see if they were done.
She is holding my jeans hostage and I will be another size up by the time I get them back. IF she even has them anymore.
This summer I went to the local hardware store..I needed pots for planting.
"Do you have any more of these kinds of pots?"
"We might," the cashier girl remarked as she turned her back on me.
You might? YOU MIGHT? Is this a test? Do I need a password? What is going on here??!!
So today's incident with the reluctant seamstress really shouldn't throw me off..but IT DOES!
Nothing is simple. Nothing just falls into place in this place. Maybe we are cursed. NO I do not think we are cursed..I just think God told us so and we didn't listen. We are going to listen next time.

I have been craving dill pickles and Mexican food. Will is off to pick up our quesadillas. Last night I made tacos. I am nuts about Mexican food right now. It's all I want. Weird.

Will has had the week off because he got a new job. He doesn't start until Monday. He has spent the week doing projects around the house. The first day I came home and the furniture was moved. Yesterday, he went Christmas shopping. Today he did something to the windows that has sealed us in for the entire winter. He has done all of the laundry, and somehow he managed to get the cable guy here so he could have HD TV. He has done more in four days than I do in a month.
But he has lost his mind a little bit..because there is a strange glint in his eye.
"You're my only human contact this week."
"Uh- Will, you say that like it's not a good thing."
Really I barely do anything except eat pickles and watch Dancing with the Stars..I can't be that bad to be around.
Anyway, he goes back to work on Monday and we are excited for his new job. I am also extremely proud of him because he is always looking out for our future, and that makes him such a great man.
I hear the garage door. He's back with my Mexican food!
I have to go!
