It's the Little Things

I went into school yesterday to "acclimate" myself to going back to work.
Sucks.
My classroom is a shit storm.
White board marker on my perfect felt board bulletin board.
Who did that?
Why are there cookie crumbs in the corners?
Yes, I checked the corners.
Who ate COOKIES in my room!!!???
And posters hanging half on and off the walls?
Oooooh. I loathe that.
That's the equivalent of uneven blinds in the window.
Do you know what I mean?
When you drive by a house and the blinds are crooked?
Ugh.
It makes me so anxious.
Pencil shavings in the white board trays!!!
Pens with mis-matched caps, pencil nubs, empty tape dispensers, empty staplers, scratchy kleenex, instead of nice kleenex, name-less papers, piles of papers..aaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
It was like walking into my "back to school nightmare" dream.
So tomorrow after I take Keegan and Maren to daycare, I am going to drive Kieran around until he falls into his morning nap slumber and I am heading to my room to clean and organize.
I have no idea what I am teaching on Monday, but dammit, my room is going to be absolutely spotless and no kid is going to mess it up.
Control issues Melissa?
Absolutely.
If you can't control the big things like your feelings about going back to work after 5 months, concentrate on as many little piddly ass things as possible.
