Leave It

Don't worry, one of these days I will have Will take a picture of me on bed rest.
There is nothing like bed rest to make you really feel like YOU are in great shape and look AWESOME..
Keegan left today to go up north with Grandpa. They are going on a "science adventure" tomorrow. Retired science teachers like to do those things, you know.
Keegan was thrilled because it's "just boys" and now he can play at Grandma and Grandpa's house with legos and not worry about Maren getting them all sticky.
Secretly, I know this is why he's so excited.
Apparently Grandpa and Keegan stopped to pick up some groceries on the way back up.
"We got corn dogs, macaroni and cheese, brocolli..."
"Brocolli? He asked for brocolli?"
"Yep."
I don't know that I have ever made Keegan eat brocolli because both Will and I hate it.
Where did this brocolli thing come from?
I wonder if his little mind was working: "I need to make sure I get some vegetables..."
Hilarious.
Here is today's bed rest lesson.
When figuring out your "situation" do not discuss it with too many people.
I am realizing that "long term disability" "sick leave banks" and the like, are not friendly topics.  It's kind of like politics. Let's just not talk about it. Even though everyone secretly wants to talk about how ridiculous Paul Ryan on P90X really is...
I don't think people are trying to be mean, I just think that every situation is different and it's not something that can be compared.  Planning to survive on one income is not fun.  I do not know how people who have lost their jobs survive. Seriously.
For us, we know there is an end, and I will be able to work again. Four months on one check is BAD but we can figure out a way. I mean Will's fish alone should net us a couple of hundred.
"We could sell the cats."
"Why do think anyone would pay for those cats?"
But still, these things do run through your mind.
I am now, more than ever, a firm believer that God does not give you more than you can handle, even if, at the time, it seems unmanageable. Will and I are working together to figure things out, and that makes me so thankful because you know there are dudes out there who would be slugging down beer and playing video games in the basement the whole time while the wife tried to sell the cats. You get the idea..
